I grew up in Wyoming, but we had lots of friends and family in Oregon. Often, my mom would throw my sister and I in the Sentra and we would make the 1,000 mile trek to the West Coast. Our goal was always to make the drive in a day… which meant no stopping. Now, I’ve never had a real big bladder and let me tell you, driving through Montana with  water bottle in hand and a strict no stoping rule was not a good combination. Those cross country road trips with my Mom and sister helped us coin a phrase that we still use today: “I’ve got to go… Montana Bad.”  So, if you ever really, really have to find a bathroom, and you tell me that you have to go “Montana Bad,” I will know immediately how serious you are and pull over ASAP.

I love thinking back to the fun stories like that that I have with my Mom. Talking, laughing, making up phrases, and just plain hangin’ out all come so easily when I’m around her – She’s the best! Ya, ya I know that everybody thinks their Mom is the best, which is how it should be… But, I’m so truly grateful to have such a supportive, self sacrificing, and all around loving Mom in my life. I’m excited for lots more years of memories and laughs with her, and I hope that one day when I’m a mom that I can emmulate her.

I love you and miss you Mom! I wish you were here so I could give you a huge hug!

Preston

May 9, 2009

I can’t believe it has been a year now since I first started photographing Preston for his bambino package!  He is the sweetest little guy you’ll ever meet and after every session with him I’m reminded how much I love shooting kids.  His most recent session was at Lewis and Clark College.   I think we had to reschedule about 4 times because of crazy weather, but we were finally blessed with perfect sunny day!    As you can see, Preston is a very sharply dressed young man, and I totally dig the mohawk! Lookout ladies!

I took a recent trip out to the Wooden Shoe Tulip Farm with two awesome kiddos.  These two are super cute and full of energy!  It was fun getting to work with them along with mom and dad on such an awesome day! The tulips haven’t been too cooperative this year. I guess the Oregon spring weather has been a little atypical, but for whatever reason the tulip farm had to postpone their tulip festival for almost a month waiting for the blooms!

Hawaiian Vacay

Our recent trip to Oahu was a huge success in all respects. We managed to get in some great R&R, spend time with some awesome friends, see the sites, soak up the rays, and eat ourselves silly. It was my first trip to the islands and won’t be my last. I especially loved the North Shore, Snorkeling at Hanauma Bay, and the Paradise cove Luau. By the end of the trip we had amassed multiple thousands of photographs which still haven’t been edited, but I grabbed a few fun ones just so you could get the flava of the trip. plane-ticket

It’s that time again, I’m heading back to Wyoming! In addition to a growing list of great Wyoming clients, I’ve also got loads of family out there in Sheridan and Buffalo and I try to make it out there for visits at least twice a year.  My trip is scheduled for May 27th through May 30th. Before heading back to Oregon (the slightly less wild west) I’ll  also be making  a quick stop in Billings to visit my Mamma.

I’ve still got a few slots open in my schedule, so if you’re a Wyomian and are interested in scheduling a session or hearing about future visits, drop me a line!

For all of you who already have sessions on the books, I can’t wait to see you and get you back in front of my camera! Here’s a handful of shots from the sessions during my November trip.

I don’t think I have ever seen a bride smile as much as Jessica. She was all grins, all day.   When she looks at Chris she  shines, and I could feel their love for eachother with every look they shared.  Jessica and Chris were Jr. High sweethearts (how often do you hear of that!?), and had dated for 10 years before tying the knot! Here are of few of my favs from the day.
