Corey and I shot our second to last wedding of 2009  just before Christmas out in Oregon City. Beth and Taylor were adorable and an absolute blast to spend the day with. We spent much of the day doing pictures downtown on Main Street near the old Courthouse (an amazing spot for photography btw) wandered through the nearby Oregon City Winter Farmer’s Market and got some great shots. We even ran into my inlaws (who are Oregon City residents) which was a fun coincidence. The rain held off just long enough to get some great wedding party shots on the courthouse steps – I absolutely adore the pink umbrellas.

There’s something extra special about cold wintery weddings, especially ones so close to Christmas. Somehow it makes them feel even more magical. It was also fun bonus that Beth and Taylor got married in the same church that I did (Oregon City Evangelical Church) it brought back all kinds of great memories!

The genuine love, happiness, and contentment that Beth and Taylor have is an amazing thing to witness and photograph. They were such a fun couple and I’m thrilled for them and the many happy years they have in store.

I recently braved the wintery weather along with the Smith family for one of my favorite winter family sessions ever! They took a cue from this year’s GAP commercials and showed up wearing an amazing selection of  stylish sweaters, hats, and scarves. What a darling faimly – with some of the cutest kids you can imagine! Grandma specifically requested some close cropped face shots and I couldn’t be happier with how they turned out! 

Here’s another of my recent favorites – Corey and I spent the day out at Cascade Locks shooting Courtney and Kevin’s wedding. It’s gotta be one of the most beautiful venues in Oregon! From the amazing view of the Bridge of the Gods, to the bright blue sparkling waters of the Columbia River everywhere I looked it seemed like I was taking in another breathtaking scene. The ceremony took place on Thunder Island in Marine Park overlooking the river, one of the most picturesque ceremonies I’ve ever worked.  My photos from the day were also featured on So This is Bliss - one of the NW’s best wedding blogs, so if you’d like to see Misty’s take on the day click on over and say hello.
