Ollie: Just 6 Days New

February 18, 2010

As promised, here are a few shots of Mr. Oliver (Ollie for short!) Lawrence Griggs at just 6 days old. He came into the world at 20 inches long, weighing just under 8 lbs, with an amazing full head of hair! His arrival came a little earlier than anticipated, but Mom and Dad were thrilled nonetheless.

Josie: My Favorite Ballerina

February 15, 2010

I’ve been blessed to get to photograph Josie on a regular basis and it’s been an absolute blast watching her grow up over the last year. Josie and her Mom came by the studio recently with her big bouncy horse, wooden trains, and an adorable homemade tutu.  She’s one of the happiest one year olds I know of and the session went flawlessly. I can guarantee that the sparkle in those big dark eyes of hers is going to drive the boys crazy in not too long!  Here are a few of my favorites:

Kade: Brand New

February 1, 2010

I’m very pleased to introduce to you, Mr. Kade Michael Konrad.  Kari and John just recently welcomed this little guy into the world with wide open arms. He was born Jan 12th, weighing in at just 6 lb. 11 oz. but 21 inches tall! Kari and John were both college runners and it seems little Kade is already well on his way to to his own tall and lean athletic body.

Kari and John are great friends of ours (they’ve even modeled for me in the past), and it’s been a blast being around Kari during her pregnancy and watching them both get ready for Kade. I can’t imagine a more fun set of parents, and I’m thrilled that our sons will get to grow up knowing eachother! Here are a few from his studio session at just 7 days old.

A Studio Sesh with Mr. Reed

January 13, 2010

Meet Reed! An adorable 1 year old hailing from Oregon City. This little guy had to be one of the most mellow 1 year olds I have ever photographed!  We plunked him down in front of the big picture window and he literally just sat through the session.  He also has a great snarl which is absolutely adorable, I am sure he does it due to the laughs he still gets out of people!   I totally dig his solitary front tooth - apparently he’s been teething since 6 mos. old – Holy Cow! It was fun getting to photograph this little guy – He made me even more excited for our March arrival. I feel like all my latests posts have been weddings so this is a nice change of pace.

Here are a few from the session, Enjoy!

The Murphy Girls

August 6, 2009

As many of you know, I make lots of trips out to Wyoming to visit my fam and tend to my lovely list of  loyal Wyomingite clients. In a roundabout way, Kate and her gorgeous three girls just recently joined that list.

Kate lives in Douglas,Wyoming with her husband and girls. After seeing pictures from my sessions during my latest trip out to cowboy country, she was so excited to get pictures taken of her family that she decided to come to Oregon to make it happen.  After a pit stop in Seattle for Dad’s business meeting, they rented a car and fought Seattle rush-hour traffic on a Friday to get to Portland and their photo session downtown. I was flattered that they would make such a long journey just to get in front of my camera, and even after the 5 hour car ride Kate, Mollie, Emma, and Claire were fantastic.

We did the session at Tanner Springs Park  as the sun was setting. The park was full of Portlanders enjoying the perfect weather, and I think the girls all secretly liked having all the curious onlookers watch them get their pictures taken.

Convinced that this was probably the last time she could talk her girls into wear matching clothes, Kate seized the moment. The outfits were darling, and the light was perfect. I’m so glad that they decided to make the trip!

Jo-Jo

July 6, 2009

When I first introduced y’all to Josie she was only a week removed from being in mom’s tummy. As you can tell, she’s adjusted to the outside world very well since then. She’s an absolute joy to shoot, constantly amused, with some of the best baby smiles I’ve seen. I can already tell she’s going to be quite the little ham.

Krystin and Jim spent the session beaming with pride as they watched their little girl steal the show. We made our way around the college campus and I was struck by how calm and confident they are with their new little bundle of joy. I’d never in a million years guess that they are first time parents.

On a side note, I’m still having a very hard time getting over how much Jim looks like Benicio del Toro  please tell me I’m not crazy.
