Jeff & Jen & One on the Way!

February 11, 2010

Let’s just say that it was a good thing that we did Jeff and Jen’s maternity session when we did, because less than a week after the shoot, she was in the hospital delivering her brand new little boy (a seperate post on him coming later). As you can see, Jen is officially one of the cutest pregnant women on record and I was amazed at her good mood and mobility at 8 1/2 months pregnant as we walked (or waddled) around a chilly and wet downtown Oregon City. Jeff was a little crestfallen when we got out of the car and Jen vetoed the 1970’s corduroy jacket that he had brought along for pictures. It didn’t take  long, however, for him to return to true form and keep us all chuckling in between clicks. The grand finale of the session came up on the railroad tracks. The passenger train came around the corner just as I was getting ready to put my camera away. We scurried off the tracks and I got them posed just in time to get the Amtrak cars speeding by in a blur behind them.

Jeff and Jen are going to make an amazing set of parents, and their new little man has been blessed beyond words to have them. I’ve posted a few of my favorites below. Baby pictures coming soon!

I recently braved the wintery weather along with the Smith family for one of my favorite winter family sessions ever! They took a cue from this year’s GAP commercials and showed up wearing an amazing selection of  stylish sweaters, hats, and scarves. What a darling faimly – with some of the cutest kids you can imagine! Grandma specifically requested some close cropped face shots and I couldn’t be happier with how they turned out!

Pretty in Pink

June 12, 2009

I recently met Brittany at the Glamour Hair Salon down in Salem where she works as a hair stylist.  I was there to do headshots of all the stylists while shooting the grand opening party. Even though I was meeting Brittany for the first time it felt so much more like I was catching up with an old friend. Her quick smile and warm, welcoming personality was like a breath of fresh air. So when she asked to schedule a family session, I was overjoyed at the prospect to say the least.

We headed out to the gorgeous Deepwood Estates yesterday and I got to meet her husband John and gorgeous little girl Kiley.  Brittany brought along a pink tutu and string of pearls and once Kiley was all decked out, she was so adorable that I almost died! John’s reserved personality couldn’t cover up the pride and love he has as a husband and father and it was fun to watch him interact with his wife and little girl. I love it when big tough Dad’s turn all gooey inside at a session!
