Holy Cow! 5 years ago today, Corey and I got married!  I can’t believe how much has happened since then and how quickly the time has seemed to pass. I honestly can’t image life without him, he really is my other half. I don’t think I could get out the door without his love, support and all around charm!  I’ve got  to say that of all our years together dating through high school, that the last 5 have been the best!   Whether it’s a simple night in on the couch watching TV, an exotic vacation, or shooting a wedding together – I can’t imagine wanting to be with anyone else.

In related news, Corey has officially left his engineering  job to work in the studio full time, FOR ME!!! (Insert villian laugh here, MUAWHAAAHAAAA!). Actually, he’s probably more the boss around here than me, but since my name is on the door I feel like I kind of have the upper hand. Anyway, don’t be surprised to see him around if you come by the studio or hear him on the other end of the phone.

Welcome aboard Alyssa Jul Photography Babe, I can”t wait for the next 5 years!

Megan: Congrats to you both! Great picture of Corey, and so super awesome that he gets to work for you now muhahaha!! :)

I’ve known Elizabeth for quite a while, and let me tell you, she’s left quite a trail of broken hearted guys behind her. You see, Elizabeth is one of those girls you just want to be around – beautiful, fun, genuine, kind, and funny. It’s no wonder that almost every guy she’s met has thought she was the bees knees. Even with so many suitors, I knew it was going to take a very special guy to fill her heart, and when I met Mark, I knew he was the one she’d been waiting for.

After almost 2 years of long distance dating, several trips from London to Oregon and Oregon to London, and many phone calls across the pond, Mark and Elizabeth finally made it official out at a beatuful ceremony at Beckenrdige Vineyards. It was a very fun day and a blast to watch Mark’s English family get to know Elizabeth’s Oregonian side. I’m absolutely thrilled for these two and can’t imagine a more perfect match.

Jenny and Matt spent the entire engagement session giggling with eachother as we walked through the Pearl District.  It’s so much fun to spend time with people that are so open, genuine, and 100% in love. They’re the kind of people who’s happiness rubs off on you – within 5 minutes of starting their photos I felt like I was taking pictures of friends I had known for years. Later, as I sat down at my computer to edit their session I found myself smiling all over again and was struck by how good pictures can be when people aren’t afraid to have fun and be themselves in front of the camera. Good job Jenny and Matt – you guys are a hoot and I can’t wait for your wedding next month!

Macro Landscaping!

June 4, 2010

Well – two relatively awesome things have happened around the studio here lately.

Firstly, we’ve teamed up with Monique Altson of Altson Landscaping – a  rockstar landscape designer here in Tigard who’s busy putting together a plan to turn our back yard into my own little photo park. I can’t tell you how excited I am to have a location right here at the studio for outdoor shooting – it’s gonna be rad! I just wish this rain would stop so we can finally get strated on the implementation phase!

Secondly, I just got a sweet new macro lens (a lens for really close up pictures). I’ve been having a blast with it and decided to get some shots of the most recent plans that Monique brought over. Enjoy!

Ms. Ella

May 24, 2010

This is Ella. Perhaps the most affectionate little girl I have ever met. When I showed up for the session I was greeted with an enormous hug. As we walked around the grounds of the Pittock Mansion Ella was far more concerned with getting to hold my hand than she was about getting her pictures taken. As you can see, she was eventually coaxed into cooperating. I think I could stare into those big dark eyes of hers forever and not get tired of it. SUCH a pretty little girl and so much fun to be around. She thought sitting in the bird bath was lots of fun, but when we tried to convince her that sitting in a nearby tree for a few shots would be the same, she didn’t buy it at all – so we skipped the tree.

Landon = Cuteness

May 20, 2010

Can it really have been that long since my last post ? Holy smokes!

Here’s a few shots of one of my favorite little boys – Landon. Getting to photograph him throughout the first year of life is such a treat! He’s changed so much since his last session! The cowboy hat shots are hands down my favorite shots, but to be honest – it’s almost impossible to take a bad picture of this little guy. He really likes to stick his tounge out too -very cute, but hopefully just a phase!

 Hat’s off to you Landon, I think you’re definitely a keeper and I can’t wait till next time!
